1,000 Little Bites
Little “bites” are what I
feel are taken out of each of us. The little hurtful comments, the
unconstructive thoughts – those are the bites that eventually build
and lead us down the path of negative body image, eating disorders
and ultimately self-destruction.
I spent 20 years giving in
to each bite, allowing them to control me, dictating my thoughts of
my body and food. After an “ah ha” moment while watching a touching
episode of a talk show with my two young sons, I decided to take my
power back. As I noticed how comfortable they were in their own
skin; I decided that day that I was going to change my thinking and
transform myself. I started out on a path of loving myself again,
working to repair the bites that had been taken from me. In the
process, I repaired my self-esteem and self-worth.
After closely looking at my
past, I connected with those buried feelings of inadequacy, faced
them head on and looked at how I live my life today. By learning
who I really was, I was able to make a connection with myself and
learned to love myself for who I am.
In my book, A Thousand
Little Bites, I share my techniques, which are based on my real
life experience in order to motivate and inspire others. My unique
approach is truly a celebration of acceptance!
My mission is to reach every
woman out there struggling with a negative body image. I strongly
hope women find the inner strength to reverse what damage has been
done and learn to love themselves and their bodies again. I hope
each woman finds the strength to live the life they desire while
feeling comfortable and finding peace.
