Movie Review
with Patti
I loved this movie! P.S. I
Love You, based on the book by Cecelia Ahern (see February book
review) was so romantic, heart wrenching, irreverently humorous and
hope filled that I want all my GrownUp Girlfriends to watch it. This
story varied in many ways from the novel but it was not a complete
hack job like The Devil Wears Prada book-to-movie lobotomy which
sucked all the fantastic sarcasm away and limply transfused the
storyline with the lead apologizing to a lame boyfriend- Whoa! I
went away for awhile, but I’m back now… Ahem. P.S. I Love You is an
incredibly sexy movie with Hilary Swank finally looking like a
beautiful woman and the incredibly hot guy from the gory but
watchable man-movie, 300 (where he is also incredibly hot). Oh, AND,
the supporting characters are who else but her GrownUp Girlfriends
who include Lisa Kudrow- being truly funny once again.
Holly, our leading lady, has
lost her husband, her anchor and is floating along through her life
guided only by his monthly letters. She is challenged and
transformed through her adversity in a positive way. She sings at
the top of her lungs to old movies, deals with her mom, Kathy Bates,
and “new guy” Harry Connick, Jr. and reinvents herself to find inner
happiness.
I give this film 5 purses, so totally worth it. Exceptional!

our top rating and 0 is our least favorite)
